Safe-T-Shirt is a protective device youth and adults can wear to help reduce the possibility of personal injury during contact sports. The Safe-T-Shirt system consists of a polycarbonate resin deflector, wrapped in high impact foam, inserted into a specially designed pocket inside a custom designed T-Shirt that provides unencumbered, lightweight protection.
Baseball and softball expenses can add up
to hundreds of dollars when you factor in league fees, uniforms, cleats, caps,
and gloves. For a minimal additional cost, you can add a Safe-T-Shirt to your
child's equipment and see your child play in another baseball game!
Factors that predispose the recreation athlete
to injury:
Poor Technique
Inadequate Coaching
Lack of Conditioning
Unsafe Equipment
LACK OF PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Accidental injury remains the leading cause of death in
the pediatric age group. Sports injuries are a huge subgroup of this population.
Between 1983 to 1989 there were 2,655,404 baseball and softball injuries documented
from selected emergency rooms throughout the United States.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission conducted a study
which found that there are more baseball related fatalities in the 5-14 year old
age group than for any other sport. 51 baseball related deaths of children were
documented, 21 cases involved impact of a baseball to the child's heart. Since the study, 14 more deaths have been reported.
As a parent, it is your responsibility to see that your
child is protected from injury.
As a coach, you take responsibility to assure safety for
your players.
Don't be the parent in the stands or the coach in the dugout
saying, "If I only would have made my child or player wear a Safe-T-Shirt,
this may not have happened."
